Founded in 2022, FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 8744 the Leviathans is a team of 20 students from schools all over the Chippewa Valley who design, build, and program a robot with which they compete against other teams from around the world. The competitions are very large-scale events with many judged awards that are awarded to teams. Teams operate under a renowned set of FIRST® Core Values to conduct research, fundraise, design, build, and showcase their achievements during annual challenges. Teams also engage in community outreach, hoping to spread a passion for STEM with the youth in our community.

Students learn engineering, computer-aided design, programming, data analysis, mechanical, electrical, leadership, teamwork, project management, communications, and event planning skills.
